Hartley a national finalist at FFA event
Anna E. Hartley of the Colquitt County FFA chapter was selected as a national finalist for the National FFA Organization’s national proficiency award in Food Science and Technology — Entrepreneurship and Placement. Hartley is one of only four people who competed for this award at the national finals Oct. 30-Nov. 2 during the 86th national FFA convention and expo in Louisville, Ky.

Georgia Peanut Commission to hold Farmer Appreciation Day
The Georgia Peanut Commission, in cooperation with the National Peanut Buying Points Association and peanut food manufacturers, will host the 2013 Farmer Appreciation Day at the GPC office located in Tifton, Ga., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25.
