MOULTRIE — The Rev. Bertrand Bailey Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Texas, will be the guest minister at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 418 Love Street in Pelham, on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. He is the pastor of Greater Bible Way Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He is also a recording artist and an evangelist, who runs more than 30 revivals year. Music will be provided by the South Georgia Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.

Doerun, Ga., population 368, nestled in a conservative county in one of the most conservative states in the country, is not a place one would expect to produce a new viewpoint in America’s homosexual debate.

“GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays” is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. It will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 400 S. Main St.
Operation Christmas Child begins collections Nov. 18
With holiday supplies already covering the store shelves, individuals, families, churches and groups in Moultrie and across the country are working to make Christmas a reality for needy kids around the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement.
