Keenagers hold annual banquet in social hall

The Keenagers Banquet was held in the social hall of the First Baptist Church.

The incoming officers for 2009-10 were installed by the Rev. Wayne Woods. There were Marvin Clayton, president; Jim Pearson, vice president; Willette Pearson, recording secretary; Betty Cooper and Dot Mims, scrapbook; Peggy Bridges, LaRue Norris and Joyce Smith, registrars; Mims, newsletter; Lorena Barhite, reporter; Loren Hildebrant, chaplain; Wylene Goings, Neil Schoonover and Frank Farmer, greeters; Eva Clayton and Jeannette Edmondson, kitchen hostess; Barhite, Cooper, Shirley Mims and Jackie Estep, flowers; Jean Herndon, corresponding secretary; Pearson, photographer; Mildred Rentz, musician; Jacqueline Roberts, treasurer; Helen Sewell, activity chairman; and Sam Stephens, coordinator.

Entertainment was provided by Rick Jordan of Thomasville, Ga. He has been minister of music at the First Baptist Church in Thomasville for many years. He played his guitars and sang several songs. The audience sang along with some of them.

Pearson welcomed the group and Clayton said the blessing for the buffet dinner. Laverne Henson and her staff provide the decorations for the banquet.

After the installation, Clayton spoke about the new year for the Jolly Keenagers. Hildebrant dismissed the group in prayer.
