Lunch Bunch meets

Staff Reports

The Olive Branch Lunch Bunch of Mt. Olive Baptist Church met in September for its regular monthly meeting.

The hostess was Annie Merle Newton, who invited the group to her house for a soup and salad lunch. The tables were adorned with blue and white place mats and napkins.

Cora J. Taylor gave thanks for the food, which consisted of homemade potato soup, vegetable soup, pimento cheese, chicken salad, crackers and iced tea. A special added touch to the meal was homemade banana pudding and peach cobbler with ice cream.

After lunch, visitation was made to church members who are residents of nursing homes, those in the hospital and shut-ins. Each one visited was given a slice of pound cake that was baked and donated by Solita Gordon.

Those attending were, Bama Norman, Dorothy Spruill, Cora J. Taylor, Norma J. Rumley, Jan Davis, Martha Ann Strickland, Jeanette Williams, Sandra Young, Margie Norman, Carolyn Harrell, Chris Norman, Nan Newton and Betty Pope.
