Golden Harvest meets in February

MOULTRIE — The Golden Harvest of Calvary Baptist Church held their monthly meeting, in February, in the church fellowship hall with 32 members and four guests present.

Bennie Bullard, president, welcomed everyone and thanked Jane Bullard and Vickie Dixon for the table decorations. The tables were done with red place mats and vases holding red and pink roses. Rose petals were sprinkled around the vases.

Bullard had the blessing for the covered dish meal and gave a devotion titled “Wisdom.” He said everyone had a little wisdom just from doing the same thing day after day and by associating with wise people.

Jeanette Dochterman read the minutes from last meeting and gave the treasure report. Lois Sinclair gave a report on the trip to Chattanooga, Tenn., on the first of May.

Those having birthdays in February were Ruth Lastinger, Margaret Livingston and Horace Thompson. Door prizes were won by Joe Mercer, Anne Croft, Betty Goff, and Ruth Lastinger.

Sinclair then told some of her jokes which seemed to be enjoyed by all.

Shirley Griner, program chairman, introduced Kim Hicks, who provided the entertainment for the evening. She sang several selections including, “I Saw Him In Your Eyes,” “On My Mother’s Side,” and “I’ll Pray for You.”

At the conclusion of the program, Bullard asked that the group remember in prayer, Bro. Brian Blackburn, Wilma Gaines, Vicky Dixon, Gene Reagin, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hand, the Waters Family, Scotty Bass, and Dorothy Spruill.
