Reported thefts top $4,000


Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — Four Colquitt County residents reported Monday they were victims of property theft. Items reported stolen included guns, jewelry, cash, rods and reels and yard tools.

The value of the items reported stolen was $4,426. Those who reported being the victims of theft were:

• Tequilia Erving, of 12th Avenue Southeast, reported a thief broke out a bedroom window and stole $1,000 cash and two gold bracelets between 9 a.m. and noon Monday. The value of the stolen items was $1,325.

• Bradley Burnham, of Cool Springs Road, reported a thief stole eight rods and reels from a storage closet between 10 p.m. Sunday and 8:09 p.m. Monday. The value of the stolen rods and reels was $800.

• Todd Mathews, of Vinson Road in Meigs, reported a thief pried open his back door and stole a Browning .243-caliber rifle, an SKB 12-gauge shotgun, a Ruger .44-caliber revolver, a 12-gauge shotgun, a Leopold scope and a gold wedding band between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday. The value of the stolen items was $2,151.

• Laverne Henson, of Tallokas Road, reported a thief stole a Yardvark edger from under her carport between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday. The value of the stolen edger was $150.

Arrests

Moultrie Police

• Barbie Hicks Fonseca, 28, of 190 Smith St. in Berlin, was charged Monday with disorderly conduct.

• Eric Terry, 22, of 610 12th Ave. S.E., was charged Monday with malicious mischief.

• Jerri Pero, 38, of 1972 Highway 37 E., was charged Monday with theft by shoplifting. Pero allegedly attempted to steal various items from Murphy Express on South Veterans Parkway.

• Nathaniel Tyler Jr., 40, of 412 10th Ave. S.E., was charged Friday with cruelty to children (second degree). He allegedly pinched a 6-year-old girl’s breasts, causing bruising.

• Christopher A. Florence, 23, of 1109 Azalea Circle in Adel, was charged Monday with being a habitual violator, DUI less safe driver, DUI child endangerment, driving with a suspended license, a child restraint violation and failure to yield when entering a roadway.

• Ervin Ricko Watson, 37, of 726 W. Gordon Ave. in Albany, was charged Tuesday with running a red light, no proof of insurance, driving with suspended registration, driving with a suspended license and defective equipment.
