Downtown business burglarized

MOULTRIE — New downtown business Wheels-N-Grillz was robbed Thursday of $3,200 worth of merchandise.

Owner Robert Blease, 409 First Ave. S.E., reported to Moultrie police that between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, someone broke into the shop and stole a 1978 Chevrolet Malibu Classic, a set of Nankang tires, 24-inch chrome wheels, a transmission jack. Damaged was a glass window pane, reports said.

Other incidents

• Police responded Thursday afternoon to Northwest Moultrie to take the complaint of Generia White, who reported that a male acquaintance punched her in the ribs. The man had gotten angry after he came by White’s home to pick up his 7-year-old niece, reports said.

• Thursday afternoon, two black females shoplifted a $100 Nascar jacket from Paradise Point 2, 105 Talmadge Drive, Moultrie police said. When confronted, one of the women threw down the jacket, and both fled to a small black car and left eastbound on First Avenue.

• Tirzah Morris, Sale City, reported Thursday to police that on Feb. 15, her daughter left her purse in a high school classroom and someone stole her Motorola cell phone, which has an estimated value of $300.

• Just after midnight Thursday, a white male entered BP convenience store on Ga. Highway 319 S. and stole a six pack of beer, police said.

• Just after midnight Thursday, police responded to Emile’s Fine Furniture, 421 W. Central Ave., to a burglary in progress.

Two male suspects entered a two-tone, white, older model pickup truck and sped away. Police reported a front glass door shattered causing $300 in damage. Officers found a big screen television that the offenders attempted to roll out of the store.

• Jorge Gomez, 605 Fifth Ave. S.E., reported to police Thursday that someone had pried out the driver side window of his 1994 Nissan Sentra at his home and stole $270 worth of stereo equipment.

• Timothy Edwards Fielder, 1718 Fifth Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with driving while license revoked and failure to stop at a stop sign causing a traffic accident.
