Two injured in collision

MOULTRIE — Two people were taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center with injuries from a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.
Ozie Salter, of 208 Milling Road in Poulan, and Zenora McClinton, of 1240 Sixth St. S.W., were each taken to Colquitt Regional were treated and released Wednesday, a hospital spokesperson said.
A Ford LGT Conventional truck, driven by Salter, approached the stop sign at the intersection of First Street Northeast and North Main Street at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday. As it entered the intersection, an Acura 3.5 RL, driven by McClinton, also entered the intersection from North Main Street.
The vehicles collided in the intersection and suffered extensive damage, with impact in the front end of the Acura and the driver’s side door of the LGT. McClinton stated the truck did not stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection. Salter stated he did not know where the Acura came from, but a witness also stated the truck went through the stop sign prior to the collision.
Salter was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, and McClinton was not cited or charged.
