Staff Reports

ELLENTON — An Ellenton boy reported he was shot with a BB gun as he rode his bicycle Monday afternoon.

A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to Ellenton about 4:15 p.m. Monday about the incident.

The deputy met with the boy, who stated he was riding his bicycle on Colquitt Street when he was shot in the left arm.

The boy stated he looked in the direction where the BB came from and saw a 17-year-old male acquaintance aiming the gun at him. The deputy then found the 17-year-old, who stated he was shooting at some cans and accidentally shot the younger boy.

The shooter was not charged in the incident, and the deputy returned to patrol after gathering all the information.
