Thief takes more than $6,500 in cash

MOULTRIE — More than $6,500 in cash was stolen from a Colquitt County home Tuesday, according to a report filed Wednesday with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office. That was the largest of five thefts reported Wednesday.

• Deysi Garcia, of Sardis Church Road, reported a thief stole $6,597.14 cash from her kitchen cabinet between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Garcia gave sheriff’s deputies the name of a male suspect.

• An employee of Car Tunes on First Avenue Southeast reported a thief stole a Kenwood 1,000-watt amplifier Wednesday. The value of the stolen amplifier was $200.

• Leslie Peretti, of Seventh Street Southeast, reported a male relative stole a General Electric refrigerator Wednesday. The value of the stolen refrigerator was $300.

• Norma Douthit, of George Ethridge Road in Lenox, reported Wednesday a thief stole a Troy Bilt pressure washer from a shelter between March 9 and March 11. The value of the stolen pressure washer was $259.

• Ruby Bynum, of Highway 319 North in Omega, reported a female relative stole food stamps Wednesday. The value of the stolen food stamps was $100.

Moultrie Police

• A 16-year-old girl was charged Wednesday with driving with a suspended license and speeding.

• Lucious Junior McCoy, 66, of 718 First St. N.W., was charged Thursday with public drunkenness.

• Jason Bernard Shingles, 31, of 628 Oak Circle, was charged Thursday with driving with a suspended license and defective equipment.

Colquitt County S.O.

• Adriana Gomez, 19, of 1160 R.L. Norman Road in Norman Park, was charged Tuesday with theft by taking.
