Moultrian elected officer in health organization

— MOULTRIE — The National Private Duty Association (NPDA), the nation’s first association for providers of private duty home care, recently established a Georgia state chapter and a Moultrian has been elected as an officer of the new organization.
Carol Lovingood-Hiers, RN, of Colquitt Regional Private Duty has been elected secretary of the new state chapter.
“Because of the many challenges facing the providers of private duty home care, it is becoming increasingly important for agencies to join together so that we can continue to improve the industry and protect the health and safety of consumers,” said Lovingood-Hiers.
The NPDA, a non-profit organization, currently represents more than 700 home care agencies in 44 states and Puerto Rico. Lovingood-Hiers said the state chapter will give private duty home care providers in Georgia an opportunity to work cooperatively on important legislative issues, share resources with other agencies and participate in core training and education programs. Members will also have access to the latest industry news and information that could affect the way all agencies conduct business.
