Law enforcement probes thefts

— MOULTRIE — Two Colquitt County residents and two businesses reported Wednesday they were victims of property theft. Items reported stolen included checks, a radiator, a car part and a lawn mower.
The known value of the items reported stolen was about $652, but some items’ values weren’t known. Those who reported being the victims of theft were:
• An employee at Advanced Auto Parts on West Central Avenue reported someone stole another customer’s specially ordered Dorman harmonic balancer part Saturday. The value of the stolen part was about $110.
• An employee at B&H Farms reported a thief stole a radiator from an irrigation motor from a field on Grantham Road between April 14 and 10 a.m. Wednesday.
• Dorothy Montgomery, of 29th Avenue Northwest, reported a thief stole a Poulan push mower from under her carport between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen lawnmower was $250.
• Jamie Snipes reported a thief stole a checkbook from a bedroom closet in his brother’s house on Millpond Road and forged seven checks between March 25 and noon Wednesday. The amount used by the forged checks was $291.59. Snipes gave sheriff’s deputies the name of a female suspect.

Arrests
Moultrie Police
• Eric Lashawn Hightower, 33, of 1101 11th Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with possession of marijuana less than one ounce (second offense), driving with a suspended license (second offense) and probation violation.
• Thomas Anthony Ricardson, 31, of 3109 South Veterans Parkway, Apt. B-8, was charged Thursday with driving without a license and tag lights required.
• Kenneth Ray Bates, 19, of 195 Ruth St., was charged Thursday with DUI and illegal possession of alcohol.

Colquitt County S.O.
• Parker Gary Giles, 29, of 3555 Doerun-Norman Park Road, was charged Thursday with theft by taking and possession of a cell phone by an inmate.

Georgia State Patrol
• Darryl Jon Bushnell, 29, of 8181 Lake Forest Blvd. in New Orleans, was charged Wednesday with giving false information to an officer, driving with a suspended license and speeding.

Other Incidents
Moultrie Police
• India Gammons, of Sixth Street Northwest, reported someone scratched all over her Honda Accord Wednesday.

Colquitt County S.O.
• Jeffery Parker, of Doc Darbyshire Road, reported someone threw a rock through a window and hit him in the neck Wednesday. Parker had a small laceration to his neck from the rock but declined treatment. Damage to the window was $100.
