Hartsfield native to speak at Sinner Friend

HARTSFIELD — Sinner Friend Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsfield will be having its Women’s Day Program on Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Evangelist Laura Anglin Myers.
Myers was born to the late Clarence Anglin Sr. and Sis. Lizzie Mae Anglin, who now resides in Funston, Ga.
A native of Hartsfield, she received her education from Moultrie Senior High School, where she was a cheerleader for the Moultrie Packer basketball team from 1971-72. She attended Moultrie Vocational School, where she received her diploma in accounting. She also received a diploma in early childhood education from Albany Technical School in Albany, Ga. Then, she received her master’s degree in Christian education and a doctorate degree in Christian counseling from Interfaith University under the Worldwide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions of the State of Virginia.
Myers became a Christian at an early age and she joined Sinner Friend Missionary Baptist Church, where she served until moving to Macon, Ga., in 1988. She is currently an active member of the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Macon. She is the founder of the Women of Reconciliation Ministry in the Middle Georgia area.
She is the wife of the Rev. Troy Myers, assistant pastor at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. She has two daughters, Yashica Murphy and Janebreka Myers, and two granddaughters, Destiny and Diamond.
