MOULTRIE — On Wednesday, Jessica Sparkman reported that someone stole the front left tire from a silver 2002 Buick Century Custom overnight parked in the Ameris Bank parking lot on First Street Southeast. In addition, the lug nuts on the left back tire were loose.
In the same parking lot, the lug nuts of a green 2002 Buick Century Custom also were loose, but nothing was taken, police reports said.
The stolen tire is a Bridgestone valued at $200.
Other reported crime included
• Wednesday, Marquita Banks, 1515 Fourth Avenue, reported to police that her apartment was broken into.
Two LG cell phones that were on the couch were stolen during the night. She reported that she was asleep on the same couch during the theft but heard someone leaving the apartment. The offender reportedly tried to re-enter the apartment, but Banks told the person that she had called the police.
Estimated value of stolen property is $200.
• Police responded to Adams Motor Company, 2024 First Ave. S.E., in reference to a stolen 2003 Ford F-150 Lariat bearing an Adams dealership tag. Estimated time of theft is between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Estimated value of the vehicle is $12,900.
• Wednesday, Nathaniel S. Holton reported that he saw an unknown black male driving his son’s 1998 Nissan Altima around town. When he tried to stop the vehicle, the man would speed off, Holton reported. His son, Michael Holton, left home on May 6 and has not returned, reports said. The Nissan is brown with a New York license plate.
• Police responded to Dollar General, 1908 First Ave. S.E., Wednesday in reference to a theft. Someone took an undetermined amount of money from the safe.
• John King, Waycross, reported to the sheriff’s office that sometime between March 15 and May 1 his Craftsman riding lawn mower valued at $800 went missing. He had just moved from Norman Park and had asked his neighbor to look after the mower for him, reports said.
Arrests
• Mitchell Lee Zellars, 22, 800-C Third Ave. S.E., theft by taking motor vehicle and misdemeanor family violence battery Wednesday.
Sabrina Fowler, 800 Third Ave. S.E., reported to police that Zellars, her ex-boyfriend, allegedly took the key to her green 1993 Ford Explorer and wouldn’t return it. She alleged that he transferred the Explorer’s title into his name without her consent.
When he moved out, he allegedly threw her against a wall. She showed police bruises on her lower legs and indicated that she had other bruises around her pelvic area, reports said.
Upon his arrest, Zellars told police that he had transferred the vehicle into his name at the request of Fowler, since she allegedly didn’t have a license. Zellars also claimed that they shared the truck as a couple, reports said.
• John Watson, 966 Cannon Road, warrant arrest for probation violation.
• Stanley Harrison Jr. 27, 1015 Third St. S.E., attempt to elude officer, loud music and driving with suspended license Wednesday.
• William Brandon Kearce, 24, 1417 12th St. S.E., possession hydrocodone and possession of marijuana less than one ounce Tuesday.
• Donald Ray Bradshaw, 24, 204 Sam Sells Road, misdemeanor marijuana possession, DUI, seatbelt violation and speeding first offense Tuesday.
