Church breakfast to honor mothers

MOULTRIE — The Senior Missionaries of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will have their annual Mother’s Day Breakfast, Sunday, May 11, at 8 a.m., in the George Walker Jr. Fellowship Hall. The theme for the occasion is “A mother opens her mouth with wisdom, and in her heart is the law of kindness.” The background scripture is found in Proverbs 31:26.

The speaker will be Vera M. Moses, a dedicated member of Friendship. She is also a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She is the Youth Sunday School teacher and she is the musician for the Youth and Gospel choirs. She is employed by the Colquitt County Board of Education.

The Missionaries In Action (MIAs) will host the occasion.

The MIAs invite mothers, mothers of adopted children, foster mothers and all who participate in role of motherhood, including family members. Sis. Isabelle Ivey is president of the Missionary Society and the Rev. Alfred Jones is the pastor.
