Man accused of hitting parents with bottle
Staff Reports
NORMAN PARK — A Norman Park man was apprehended after he allegedly hit both of his parents with a beer bottle during an argument Tuesday night.
Tracy Craig White, 35, of 2051 Old Albany Road, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to J.R. Suber Road in Norman Park about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday about a dispute. He spoke with Mary Jo White and Gary White, and they stated their son, Tracy, came to the house and asked for $20 for food and gasoline.
About an hour later, Tracy White returned to the house and asked his father about his pay at work. He, carrying a 40-ounce beer bottle and appearing to be drunk, became upset with his father’s answer, and Gary White asked him to leave.
Gary White told the deputy that when he opened the door to the carport, his son hit him at least twice in the head with the bottle. They continued to fight in the kitchen, he said, and Tracy White allegedly hit his mother with the bottle before he dropped it.
The fight continued between the two men as Gary White was allegedly pushed into a dish cabinet. White stated he went to get a 9 mm pistol from a bedroom nightstand, and his son allegedly tried to take it from him. Tracy White then fled from the scene on foot.
When the deputy arrived, Gary White had a laceration to his forehead and a broken nose, and Mary Jo White had a knot on her forehead and a scrape to her temple, the deputy’s report said. An investigator came to the scene, and Tracy White was placed under arrest after he came out of the woods at 10:18 p.m. and turned himself in to the deputy.
