Checkpoint nets 3 arrests

MOULTRIE — A Moultrie police roadblock Thursday afternoon netted three arrests.
The checkpoint was set up on the West Bypass at the intersection of Alberta Avenue. It was a special operation to allow the department to continue to receive highway safety funding.
Placed under arrest were:
• Andy Harold Shepard, 34, of 808 Causey Road, was charged with driving with a suspended license.
• Jesus Hernandez Garcia, 25, of Tommy Meredith Road, was charged with driving without a license.
• Agustin Zarate, 41, of Circle Road, Lot 30, was charged with driving without a license.
Other Arrests
Moultrie Police
• Jessica Tellez, 24, of 898 Clark Road, was charged Thursday with theft by shoplifting.
• Amanda Kay Denham, 31, of 401 E. Gate Drive in Norman Park, was charged Thursday with theft by shoplifting.
• Joseph Cleveland Pope Jr., 46, of 335 E. Broad St. in Norman Park, was charged Thursday with DUI, failure to dim headlights and failure to maintain lane.
Colquitt County S.O.
• Anthony Andrew Allegood, 28, of 121 Chafin St. in Norman Park, was charged Thursday with burglary and two counts of theft by deception.
