City Council has busy agenda

MOULTRIE — At Tuesday’s meeting, the Moultrie City Council will discuss the following matters:

• Read a proclamation declaring May 2008 as Historic Preservation Month

• Conducting a public hearing and holding the third and final readings for a rezoning request of 17.975 acres on Old Doerun Highway from the Joint Development Authority of Colquitt, Thomas, Grady and Mitchell Counties, represented by Attorney Billy Fallin. The request is to rezone the property from an M-1 (Light and Service Industrial) District to an R-1C (Single Family Residential)

• Consider a resolution and letter of support for housing affordable to citizens of the City of Moultrie and Colquitt County and the proposed construction of a 65-unit affordable rental housing development

• Conduct a public hearing and holding a third and final reading to rezone 3 acres on Doc Darbyshire Road as requested by Lynn Lasseter represented by Dan Hinson. The request is to rezone the land from an Agricultural District to a C-3 Commercial District

• Consideria third and final reading to amend hours of public use in city parks and recreational areas ordinance from sunrise to sunset

• Consider a change order #1 to the 2008 Curb and Sidewalk Improvements

to pay $1,992 in labor to install 8-inch concrete

• Consider bid awards for the PR2008 Street Resurfacing Project, the SR2008 Street Repair Project and for a No. 2 Switching Station 2008 Modifications

• Consider appointments of a voting delegate to the 2007 Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) Annual Conference

• Hold an executive session to discuss the future acquisition of real estate.
