Burglar fixes door before he leaves

MOULTRIE — A Moultrie woman reported her apartment was burglarized while she was away over the weekend. The thief, however, was kind enough do some repair work before he left.
Jodie Jones, of First Street Southeast, reported someone forced open the front door to her apartment between noon Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Monday. She found the latches on the front door, however, had been fixed as the robber or robbers left out the back door.
Missing were a Hewlett-Packard computer, a Sanyo 25-inch television, a DVD player, a Sony PlayStation 2, a Lexmark printer and an armoire with jewelry inside, Jones said. The value of the stolen items was $3,430.

Moultrie Police
• Daniel Almanza Hernandez, 17, of 221 Cranford Road in Berlin, was charged Monday with theft by shoplifting.
• Anthony Ray Humphrey, 34, of Moultrie, was charged Monday with theft by shoplifting and probation violation.
• Mary Ann Grant, 49, of 1716 Fourth St. S.E., was charged Monday with driving without a license and failure to stop at a stop sign.
• Cleo Burkes Jr., 51, of 1108 Fourth Ave. S.E., was charged Monday with simple battery and theft by taking.
Georgia State Patrol
• Carlos Alfredo Martinez, 21, of 516 Highway 133 S., Lot 54, was charged Monday with driving without a license and speeding.
• Patricia Oneal Griffin, 40, of 5130 Hamlin Road in Quitman, was charged Sunday with DUI, failure to maintain lane and driving too fast for conditions.
