MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County School Nutrition Department recently celebrated its local and state accomplishments at the annual School Nutrition Association awards banquet held at Willie J. Williams Middle School.

Staff members were honored for their Student Meal Participation, Perfect Attendance, Years of Service, and Meals Per Labor Hour awards.

Also, employees who are retiring from school nutrition this year were also recognized. These employees include: Doris James, Stringfellow Elementary School; Annie Green, Stringfellow Elementary School; Hilda Price, Stringfellow Elementary School; Christine Boyd, CA Gray Middle; Ann Stripling, Sunset Elementary; and Sylvia Hiers, Sunset Elementary.

Perfect Attendance: Mary Boyd, Avegene Moore, Colleen Johnson, Vicky Goff, Darlene Anderson, Shevellia Dean, Ulysses McBurrows, Janie Faye Williams, Mary Robinson, Freddie Williams, Ann Stripling, Dana Bivins, Chris Bivins, Laura Roseborough, Norma Staton, Lucille Waldon, Josephine Kin, and James Goss

Highest Participation and MPLH: Judy Chandler, Cox Elementary School, Highest Increase in Lunch Participation Award; Dorothy Sampson, Stringfellow Elementary School, Highest Breakfast Participation Rate and Highest Lunch Participation Rate; Vicky Gay, Okapilco Elementary School, Highest Increase in Breakfast Participation and Highest Meals per Labor Hour Award; and Tammy Hart, Willie J. Williams Middle School, Highest Increase in Meals per Labor Hour Award.

Monika W. Griner, school nutrition director, commented, “All of our school cafeterias are to be commended for the job that they do feeding the students of Colquitt County. Our employees exemplify the meaning of teamwork and professionalism each and every day. I commend the cafeteria staffs at all 13 locations for taking their program to the highest levels of productivity. Feeding children is our business and they do it well.”
