MOULTRIE — The man who escaped from the Colquitt County Jail Monday afternoon was captured Friday afternoon courtesy of an anonymous tipster.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator Capt. Hal Suber said the sheriff’s office received an anonymous tip Friday telling them where to find Anthony Moses Jordan, 32, of Norcross. Jordan escaped from the jail about 1:25 p.m. Monday by climbing onto the jail’s roof and leaping into the parking lot.

At about 12:30 p.m. Friday, Suber said, sheriff’s investigators, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, surrounded a house at 1306 First Ave. N.W. When they entered the house, they found Jordan inside and captured him as he attempted to flee. He was charged with escape in addition to previous convictions.

In addition to Jordan, Suber said three people inside the house were also apprehended. Kevin Dietrick Jordan, 30, and Tonya Nicole Fielder, 24, both of 1306 First Ave. N.W., and Christopher Andrew Willoughby, 20, of 146 N. Academy St. in Funston, were each charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal. It was believed they were friends of Anthony Jordan but had no other connection to him.

Anthony Jordan was found guilty of burglary, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault stemming from a residential burglary in May. He, along with other unknown persons, kicked in the back door of a home on 812 Seventh Ave. S.E. at 2 a.m. June 27, 2008, and stole clothing, jewelry, a cell phone and approximately $900 in cash. He was sentenced to two life sentences in prison plus 20 years on the charges.

CCSO Operations Supervisor Capt. Julius Cox said Anthony Jordan was being kept at the jail awaiting transfer to the Georgia Department of Corrections in July when he escaped. Suber said he was turned over to the Department of Corrections shortly after being booked into the jail for the escape charge.
