MOULTRIE — A Colquitt County teen-ager was indicted by a Colquitt County Grand Jury this week in the death of a Sale City man who reportedly disappeared after driving to Edmondson Road to pick up a junk vehicle.

James Jamal Williams, 19, 512 Edmondson Road, was indicted on charges of malice murder, felony murder, armed robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and concealing the death of another.

Williams is a accused of fatally shooting Joshua Morey, 27, on March 27, and hiding his body. The felony murder count alleges that Williams killed Morey during the commission of an armed robbery.

Williams was arrested three days after the crime.

Morey’s Dodge 2500 pickup truck was found directly in front of Williams’ residence on the day of the shooting, the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office said. Morey’s body was found wrapped in carpeting in bushes behind William’s residence.

Morey reportedly left his home at about 8 a.m. March 27 heading to Moultrie, the sheriff’s office has said, where he went to Edmondson Road to pick up a junk vehicle. He was not seen alive after that time.

In another slaying case before the grand jury this week, Gregory Lamont Denson was indicted on charges of malice murder, aggravated assault, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and attempt to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

Denson, of Barwick, is accused in the Sept. 8, 2008, slaying of Marquis Thornton, 32, whose body was found in the front yard of a 410 E. Central Ave. residence.

Richard Levon Revels Jr., 22, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the slaying in May and was sentenced earlier this month to a 20-year prison sentence.

Denson’s trial has been delayed on two occasions.

In other indictments this week the grand jury indicted the following people:

• David Dewayne Ogletree; obstruction of an officer, battery.

• Simon Peter Johnson Jr.; two counts of terroristic threats, simple battery.

• Joshua Stephen Payne; two counts child molestation, two counts sexual battery of a child under 16.
