MOULTRIE — Three people were apprehended after they were allegedly found with suspected marijuana Tuesday afternoon.
Amber Lyn Wilson, 18, Sherri Lyn Flinchum, 39, both of 571 W. Mulberry St. in Funston, and Johnny Ray Walker, 21, of 1231 Bob Taylor Road, were each charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
A Moultrie police officer spotted a Ford Escort parked at a house in a known drug area of Seventh Avenue Southeast at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday. The car drove off after a white male left the house and got into it, and the officer followed it to the First Avenue Southeast and Fifth Street Southeast intersection, police reports stated.
While waiting for a traffic light at the intersection, the Escort cut off, and the officer turned on his car’s blue lights for driver safety. Once the car was restarted, it pulled into the Chevron station at the intersection followed by the officer. As the car pulled in, a passenger, later identified as Walker, was allegedly making movements as if to hide something.
The officer spoke with the driver, identified as Wilson, to see if everything was okay with them and the Escort. When he looked in the car, he allegedly saw suspected marijuana all over Walker’s pants, and he was asked to step out of the car. When he got out, there allegedly was suspected marijuana falling off his clothes.
The officer asked Wilson and another passenger, identified as Flinchum, to also step out of the Escort and asked for permission to search it. Wilson was allegedly acting nervous but gave the officer permission to search the car, and he found a plastic baggy with suspected marijuana allegedly stuffed between the passenger seat and a floor board. Suspected marijuana residue was also found all over the car’s interior.
Walker, Flinchum and Wilson were then placed under arrest.
