MOULTRIE — A Sale City teenager remained hospitalized Thursday after being injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon. Three others were also injured in the collision but all of them have been released from the hospital.

Kristin Akridge, 17, of 2974 Highway 270 in Sale City, was listed in fair condition Thursday at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, a hospital spokesperson said.

A Moultrie police officer was called to the intersection of North Main Street and First Street Northeast at 5:26 p.m. Monday, according to a police accident report released Thursday. The first officer at the scene provided first aid to the passenger of a Saturn SL1, identified as Akridge, who was unconscious at the time. She was extricated from the car by Moultrie firefighters and taken to Archbold for treatment.

The officer spoke with the Saturn’s driver, Danny Stough, of 661 John Vickers Road in Norman Park, and the driver of a Nissan King Cab, Brian Harrison, of 225 Indian Lake Drive, Lot B. Stough told the officer he was driving on First Street Northeast and entered the intersection but did not see the Nissan truck coming.

Stough stated he was also knocked unconscious from the accident and was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center for treatment. A hospital spokesperson said he was treated for his injuries and released Monday.

Harrison stated he was driving on Tifton Highway and entered the intersection when he saw the Saturn run a yield sign. He tried to stop the Nissan truck but was unable to avoid a collision, which caused extensive damage to the Saturn’s passenger side and extensive damage to the truck’s front end.

Harrison and a passenger in the truck, Jeffrey Bishop, 20, of Highway 319 N., Lot 10, in Norman Park, complained of injuries and were taken to Colquitt Regional. A hospital spokesperson said both were treated for their injuries and were released Monday.

Charges were pending against Stough at the time of report, but Harrison was not cited or charged in the collision.
