MOULTRIE — Three teen-agers were apprehended after they allegedly held up a woman at gunpoint Tuesday morning.
Two 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were each charged with armed robbery, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. David Corona said. Additional charges could be added pending an investigation.
Corona said Carol Miller reported hearing her dogs barking at her house in Sands Trailer Park on Sylvester Highway about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. When she went outside to check on them, one of the three teens approached her and allegedly pulled out a gun. The other two were standing nearby, but Corona said he was unsure which of the teens pulled the gun.
The teens allegedly stole Miller’s purse and its contents then fled from the scene, Corona said. They were caught a short time later following a brief foot chase. The purse and all of its contents minus $80 cash were recovered between the trailer park and Elam Estates on Sylvester Highway.
Corona said the teens were taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Thomasville.
