Cotton Festival plans being made

BERLIN — Organizers are seeking vendors, performers and parade participants for the Berlin Cotton Festival.

The festival will be held the last Saturday in September, which is Sept. 26, at the Berlin City Park behind city hall. There will be many things to do again this year and the vendors’ booths will be open at 10 a.m.

Music will be presented throughout the day with different groups and there will also be food and drinks. Activities for the kids will include a slide and jump house.

This year the parade will start at 2 p.m., but no candy will be thrown out this year due to liability. There will be a candy booth for the little ones.

A silent auction and a cake auction will be held and times for these events will be posted on the day of the festival.

The street dance will start at 7 p.m. and the festival will end at 11 p.m.

Contact Barbara Williams at (229) 324-2354 for vendor and parade applications. Vendor rentals are $25 without electricity and $30 with electricity.

Any group interested in performing should contact Berlin City Hall at (229) 324-2444.

Any other questions can also be directed to Williams or city hall.
