MOULTRIE — A mobile home was destroyed when a fire ignited Wednesday morning.

Volunteer firefighters from the Culbertson, Berlin and Southside Volunteer Fire Departments were called to the mobile home on Stiner Road about noon Wednesday. Firefighters tried to extinguish the fire, but the mobile home was destroyed.

Five people, three adults and two children, were inside the house when the fire ignited, but all escaped without injury. The cause of the fire was not known pending an investigation by fire officials.

The Red Cross of Colquitt County was on hand to provide assistance to the occupants and to the volunteer firefighters.
