Robbery suspect caught in Worth County
Staff Reports
MOULTRIE — A Sylvester man was arrested Friday in connection with a June 26 robbery in Doerun.
Terry Anderson Jr., 17, of 614 Peafowl Road in Sylvester, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, battery of a person 65 years of age and older and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.
Anderson allegedly pulled a knife and tried to steal Wilson P. Tate’s wallet at a house on North Broad Street in Doerun June 26. Tate would not give up his wallet, and the two men struggled.
Following the altercation, Anderson allegedly threw a concrete block at Tate before fleeing the scene. Tate was not hit by the block, however, and reported the incident to police.
Anderson was arrested Friday by the Worth County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.
