MOULTRIE — A Cairo man was apprehended after he allegedly cut and stabbed his brother during an argument Sunday morning.
Waldo E. Hargraves, 41, of 749 Old Thomasville Road in Cairo, was charged with aggravated assault.
A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was sent to a house on Clarence Norman Road at 11:06 a.m. Sunday about a fight. While driving on Highway 37 East to get to the house, however, he was flagged down by James Hargraves, and the two pulled over alongside the road.
When James got out of his Kia Spectra, he was bleeding and had several cut and stab wounds to his head, chest and arm. He was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, and a hospital spokesperson said he was listed in good condition Monday afternoon.
James told the deputy he and Waldo Hargraves, his brother, got into an argument on how they were going to work on a car. Waldo allegedly jumped on James and pulled out a knife, cutting and stabbing him.
Deputies went to the house to check on Waldo, and he was placed under arrest there and taken to Colquitt County Jail.
