COOLIDGE — A Coolidge man reported he was punched several times by a male acquaintance Monday afternoon after he went to retrieve a four-wheeler.
James McKinney reported he went to a house on Smithwick Bridge Road in Coolidge about 4 p.m. Monday to pick up his four-wheeler. When he went to the house, however, the acquaintance’s son refused to give the four-wheeler to him and called his father at work, sheriff’s reports stated.
McKinney went back to his job when the male acquaintance came there and began to punch him wearing brass knuckles, the report said. McKinney had several lacerations to the top of his head, a knot on the back of his head and a scratch on each arm.
Two people witnessed the incident, and the Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy who responded got a number to contact them. The male acquaintance then spoke with the deputy at the sheriff’s office and admitted to punching McKinney but stated there were no weapons involved. He had not been charged in the incident at the time of report, but McKinney stated he did want to press charges against the acquaintance, the report stated.
