Boy says car tried to run him over

Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — A Willie J. Williams Middle School student reported someone tried to run him over at his bus stop Tuesday morning.

A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to the school about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday about an incident that took place at Haven Hills Estates on Highway 319 North in Norman Park. The deputy met with the school resource officer who took the deputy to meet with the 14-year-old boy.

The boy stated he and two other students were walking to the bus stop at the front of the mobile home park when a Pontiac GT crossed over the middle line. It appeared the car, driven by a black male, was trying to run them over, and the boy jumped out of the way and avoided being struck. He said the car brushed his leg, but he was not injured.

One of the other students stated a while male passenger was teasing them and asked if they wanted any biscuits. The car then turned down another road at the park. It was described as a gray Pontiac GT with a rear spoiler and dark tinted windows.
