2 charged in Saturday fight
MOULTRIE — Two men were apprehended related to an alleged fight Saturday night. One of the two men, however, was not apprehended without a struggle with officers.
Jenrri D. Lopez, 24, and Selvin Monzon Lopez, 22, both of 167 Scott Cemetery Road, were each charged with disorderly conduct. Selvin was also charged with resisting arrest.
Officers were called to Latino’s night club on South Main Street at 11:49 p.m. Saturday about a fight between two men. The officers allegedly saw Jenrri and Selvin Lopez fighting in the parking lot, and Jenrri was placed under arrest without incident.
When the officers went to place Selvin under arrest, however, he allegedly began to resist. One of the officers took him to ground to try and gain control, but he was not able to do so.
A second officer pulled out his taser and tried to use it on Selvin Lopez, but one of the probes did not make contact with him, making it ineffective. Two of the officers then held Selvin down on the ground and were able to place him in handcuffs. Both men were taken to Colquitt County Jail.
