MOULTRIE — An anonymous call led officers to a man who allegedly was seen stealing doors from an abandoned house Tuesday night.
Larry Williford Sr., 49, of Joe Louis Ave., was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools during the commission of a crime, obstruction and two counts of probation violation.
Moultrie Police Investigator Sgt. Brian Newvine said an officer was called to an abandoned house on Fifth Avenue Southwest at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday. An anonymous person reported seeing someone in the house, and officers responded to the call as a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived, Newvine said the man, later identified as Williford, was seen inside the house. He allegedly tried to steal two interior doors and an exterior door with the intent to sell them.
