MOULTRIE — A three-vehicle accident sent one driver to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

Terry Sanders, of 707-H Sumner Road, was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center with injuries from the collision. A hospital spokesperson said he was treated for his injuries and released Thursday.

A Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Sanders, was driving on First Avenue Southeast and was stopping near the 26th Street Southeast intersection for a Buick Lesabre, driven by Ayala Cruz, of 345 Oak Lane, at 4:13 p.m. Thursday. Cruz told a Moultrie police officer he was stopped for another vehicle in front of him.

As both vehicles were at the intersection, a Pontiac Parisienne, driven by Anthony Bailey, of 1000 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, also approached the intersection from behind the Suburban. Sanders stated the Pontiac collided with the rear of his Suburban, and his vehicle collided with the rear of the Lesabre.

The Lesabre and Suburban had moderate damage from the collision, but the Parisienne had extensive damage to its front end. Bailey was cited for following too closely, but neither Cruz nor Sanders were cited or charged in the collision.
