Thefts top $7,100


Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — Seven Colquitt County residents reported they were recent victims of property theft. Items reported stolen included jewelry, guns, an air conditioner, lawn equipment and gasoline.

The value of the items reported stolen was $7,100. Those who reported being the victims of theft were:

• Jackie McElvery, of 10th Street Southeast, reported a thief stole a wedding ring set Thursday. The value of the stolen rings was $1,000.

• Clinton Peterson reported a thief stole an air conditioning unit from his house on First Avenue Northwest between 7:30 Sunday and 12:45 p.m. Monday. The value of the stolen air conditioner was $2,000.

• Ronnie Spradley reported a thief stole a .22-caliber rifle with a scope, a Remington 20-gauge shotgun, a .410-caliber shotgun and two .22-caliber pistols from a gun safe of a house he was watching on Royal Street in Norman Park between 2 p.m. Sunday and 5:15 p.m. Monday. The value of the stolen guns was $1,420.

• Chad Williams, of McElroy Road, reported a thief stole a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun from his shop between Thursday and Saturday. The value of the stolen shotgun was $220. Williams gave sheriff’s deputies the name of a male suspect.

• Adrian Juarez, of Ellenton-Norman Park Road in Norman Park, reported a thief stole a Craftsman riding mower from his front porch between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday. The value of the stolen lawn mower was $1,500.

• Eva Bush, of Newsome Road, reported a thief stole a Craftsman grass trimmer worth $200 between Sept. 23 and 8 p.m. Sunday. Bush gave sheriff’s deputies the name of a male suspect.

• Andy Johnson, of Zion Church Road in Meigs, reported a thief stole 200 gallons of gasoline from tanks on his chicken farm between noon and 2 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen gasoline was $760.

Arrests

Moultrie Police

• Aisha Latrice Ellis, 24, of 128 Fifth St. S.W., was charged Monday with insulting or abusing a school teacher. The alleged incident took place on a school bus in Dooly County.
