MOULTRIE — Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual women’s conference beginning Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. with an inspiration program coordinated by Sis. Vera Moses. Featured on this program will be Friendship Young Adult Choir.

The conference will continue on Saturday, at 8 a.m., with a prayer breakfast, followed by a “Get Acquainted” session. At 10 a.m., there will be an inspirational service with the Rev. Zilphia Dorsett.

Dorsett was born in Camilla, Ga., and moved to Miami-Dade County, Fla., at a young age. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla.

She was employed as personnel director with the City of Florida City, Fla. She was a member of Greater William Chapel Freewill Baptist Church of Homestead, Fla., where she served as Sunday school superintendent and president of the Women’s Ministry. She also served as police chaplain for the City of Florida City.

Following her retirement, she relocated to Moultrie in March 2007. She joined Friendship Baptist Church and is an active member of the Sunday school, Women’s Auxiliary, coordinator of the weekly noonday prayer, and is a member of the ministerial staff.

She and her husband, Tommy, have two sons, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Following the lunch break at 12:30 p.m., praise and worship services will conclude this year’s conference with guest speaker, the Rev. Loraine Fuller.

Fuller is the wife of Deacon Willie A. Fuller and is the mother of four children. She has seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is a graduate of Lincoln High School of Tallahassee, Fla. She is also a graduate of Florida International University, Bain Institute of the Seaboard Baptist Association, Inc. of Miami, Fla., and Miami-Dade Medical College of Miami. She holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla. She is a retiree of Cedars Medical Center of Miami, Fla.

She and her husband moved from Miami in 1997 and presently reside in Adel, Ga. She is an ordained minister of the gospel and is an associate minister at Mother Easter Baptist Church in Moultrie. She is also affiliated with the Women’s Federated Club of Moultrie.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Women Carrying the Torch That Lights the Way to Salvation — Walking in the Light.”

Breakfast and lunch will be served. There is a small registration fee.
