CROSLAND — The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating items reported stolen in Crosland.
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator David Corona said there have been several burglaries in Crosland within the past two weeks. Some of the items have been recovered, but the sheriff’s office is attempting to locate many other items reported stolen to return them to the proper owners.
The sheriff’s office charged Allen Scott Jones Jr., 25, of 6026 Highway 319 N., with burglary Wednesday. Investigators believe Jones and a second suspect stole a variety of items from homes in Crosland and possibly Tift County.
Corona said anyone who has purchased anything from Jones is asked to contact the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office at 616-7430. Investigators are searching for items including firearms, farming equipment, tools, saddles and a four-wheeler. Anyone who contacts the sheriff’s office about the items would not face charges related to the recovery effort, Corona said.
“We’re not looking to prosecute,” Corona said. “We are just wanting to recover the property.”
