Woman hurt in Veterans Parkway wreck

Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — One person was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center Wednesday afternoon with injuries from a two-vehicle accident.

Moultrie police officers were called to the intersection of Highway 319 North and Doc Darbyshire Road at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, an officer met with Keisha Hiers, of 2821 Pleasant Hill Church Road in Pavo, who was driving a Chevrolet S-10 truck on Doc Darbyshire Road. She stated she was making a right turn onto Highway 319 North when a Hyundai Accent, driven by Tanievia Corbin, of 1195 Sumner Road, was driving on Highway 319 North and collided with the truck. Corbin told the officer the truck pulled out in front of her car, and she was unable to avoid a collision.

Corbin had visible injuries from the collision, and she was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center. A hospital spokesperson said she was treated for her injuries and released Wednesday.

Hiers was cited for failure to yield and a child restraint violation, but Corbin was not cited or charged in the collision.
