Staff Reports
MOULTRIE — Police arrested an 18-year-old Norman Park man after he allegedly brought a rifle to Colquitt County High School Wednesday afternoon.
Khole Lindsey Hargraves, of 1466 John Vickers Road in Norman Park, was charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds and possession of alcohol on school grounds.
A Moultrie police officer was called to the high school on Park Avenue at 1:44 p.m. Wednesday about the incident. The officer spoke with school principal Bob Jones, who stated Hargraves allegedly had been in an argument earlier in the school day.
Jones said a student told him after the argument there may be a fight at the end of the school day and that Hargraves allegedly had a rifle in his vehicle. Jones asked Hargraves about the rifle, and he allegedly admitted the gun was in his vehicle. Hargraves allegedly stated he left the rifle in his vehicle after hunting Tuesday.
Jones stated he searched Hargraves’ vehicle and found the rifle and eight beers inside. Hargraves was taken to the principal’s office, where he was placed under arrest and taken to Colquitt County Jail.
