Veterans Day Celebration

There will be a Veterans Day Celebration barbecue luncheon, on Friday, Nov. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Moultrie Career Center at the Georgia Department of Labor. The opening ceremonies will begin at 11:30 a.m. Please confirm a reservation with Voleta Yarbrough at 229-891-7169.

Memorial Service

There will be a memorial service and wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Lewis Hill Amphitheater on the Courthouse Square. Those wishing to lay a wreath should call Hoyt for Faye Holland at 985-2334.

Veterans Coffee

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library will host a veterans coffee for veterans of all wars on Friday, Nov. 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. A video presentation of veterans’ interviews will be shared and light refreshments will be served.

Veterans Day Prayer Breakfast

The 21st Annual Veterans Day Prayer Breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Colquitt County High School cafeteria. William Abbott, Korean War POW and author of “Blood Runs Red, White and Blue,” will speak at 8 a.m. Call Hoyt or Faye Holland at 985-2334 for more information. This is open to all veterans and their families.

Annual Fish Fry

Colquitt County Farm Bureau will hold its annual membership fish fry on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m., at the Farm Bureau office on Sylvester Hwy. in Moultrie.
