Downtown Yard Sale set for Saturday

MOULTRIE — The ninth annual Downtown Yard Sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.
City of Moultrie Main Street Director Amy Johnson said about 20 spaces are still available for anyone who would like to take part in the event. Reservations cost $25 to $35.
Anyone interested in reserving a spot is asked to visit the Moultrie Main Street office, located on North Main Street, Johnson said. Applications and maps of the yard sale layout can also be found at the Downtown Moultrie Web site, www.downtownmoultrie.com.
Although mostly yard sale items will be on sale, Johnson said there will be a variety of everything for everyone at the largest yard sale in Colquitt County. Several downtown stores and restaurants will also be open for anyone looking to get a jump on Christmas shopping.
“We are encouraging folks to come out,” Johnson said.
The yard sale began in 2001 as an idea from downtown business owner Lewis Hill for a Downtown Moultrie Association fundraiser, Johnson said. Since then, it has grown into the largest yard sale in Colquitt County, being held twice a year. This Saturday’s yard sale is the first time the Main Street office has been heading up the event.
