MOULTRIE — An Albany man was apprehended after he allegedly damaged a car then resisted law enforcement officers Saturday morning.

Roma Gibson, 50, of 4013 Fleming Road in Albany, was charged with disorderly conduct, simple battery, criminal damage to property (second degree) and damage to government property.

A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to Cox Auto Parts on Sylvester Highway at 11:27 a.m. Saturday about an unruly subject. Upon arrival, Gibson walked up to the deputy and said, “Here, take me,” but he allegedly resisted the deputy’s commands.

A second deputy arrived at the scene, and the two deputies and another person put shackles on Gibson as he was placed under arrest and put into the deputy’s patrol car. While in the back seat, Gibson allegedly knocked out a passenger window of the patrol car, placed in more restraints before being put back into the car and taken to Colquitt County Jail.

The deputy then spoke with employees, who stated Gibson allegedly became irate after he asked about several vehicles on the lot.

Gibson was taken outside by Colquitt County Emergency Management Agency Director Russell Moody, who was at the lot during the alleged incident. After being taken outside, Gibson allegedly punched the hood of a Scion vehicle twice then jumped onto the hood and sat on it, leaving a large dent. He then was told the calm down again and allegedly kicked the side of the vehicle, causing a dent and scratches.

Moody stated he allegedly had been assaulted by Gibson before the deputy arrived at the scene and as he allegedly resisted being put into the deputy’s car.

• Norris McClendon, 38, of 800 Shy Manor Drive, Apt. 3, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.

• Reginald Jazmin Bradshaw, 18, of 516 Fourth St. N.W., was charged Saturday with DUI (second offense), driving with a suspended license (second offense), an open container violation and duty to obey an officer.

• A 13-year-old girl was charged Saturday with being a runaway juvenile.

• Cagney Jermaine Frier, 24, of 314 First Ave. S.W., was charged Saturday with theft by shoplifting. He allegedly tried to steal two bottles of Febreeze, valued at $6, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

• Jennifer Ann Wurst, 33, of 597 Funston-Sigsbee Road, was charged Saturday with cruelty to children (first degree) and theft by shoplifting. She allegedly tried to steal three packs of men’s underwear and a bottle of Cheer detergent, valued at $21, from Dollar General on Camilla Highway. Her two children were allegedly left locked inside her vehicle with the windows up and keys in the ignition while she was in the store.
