• A Colquitt County volunteer fire department received a federal grant to update its vehicle fleet, the second time in as many years and third time in five years for a group of county firefighters. Westside Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $190,000 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program to purchase a new tanker truck. Look in Tuesday's edition of The Moultrie Observer for more information about the grant.

• Voters in Colquitt County can return to the polls to cast ballots in the three runoff races beginning Wednesday, including the U.S. Senate race between Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Democratic challenger Jim Martin. Look in Tuesday's edition of The Moultrie Observer for more on the runoff races.
