21 arrests in booze sting

MOULTRIE — The Moultrie Police Department arrested 21 people who allegedly sold alcohol to a minor in a recent operation.
Moultrie Police Special Duty Unit Commander Sgt. Steve Stratman said a group of undercover juveniles visited every establishment that has a valid liquor license. Over a week and a half period, the “buy walks” found a total of 22 people who allegedly sold alcohol to the minors.
Of those who allegedly sold to the minors, Stratman said 21 of them were apprehended Monday or Tuesday. One had not yet been apprehended as of Wednesday morning, and each was charged with the sale of alcohol to a minor and failure to property identify.
Those who have been apprehended were:
• Chiquita Yashica Taylor, 37, of 105 Fifth Ave. S.W., was apprehended Monday.
• Chelsea Brittany Keith, 21, of 931 Rancho Taylor Road in Doerun, was apprehended Monday.
• Lola Denise Crawford, 35, of 1330 Highway 319 N., Lot 23, in Norman Park, was apprehended Monday.
• Tammy Johnson Boyd, 38, of 713 26th Ave. S.E., Apt. D, was apprehended Monday.
• Elisa Ball, 43, of 527 Highway 319 N., was apprehended Monday. She was also charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
• Mohammad Arshad Chendery, 47, of 2011 West Blvd., was apprehended Monday.
• Jesus Francisco Diaz, 45, of 145 Ruth St., was apprehended Monday.
• Joseph Merio Cordozo, 41, of 2809 Fifth St. S.E., Apt. E-2, was apprehended Monday.
• Judas Joao, 35, of 2709 Fifth St. S.E., Apt. E-2, was apprehended Monday.
• Elaine Vaughn, 57, of 253 Levi St., was apprehended Monday.
• Norma Rios Garcia, 28, of 1814 Overlook Drive, was apprehended Monday.
