Rev. Luke to speak at Mammoth Tea

Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — Williams Tabernacle CME Church will have its 58th Annual Mammoth Tea on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Charles Luke Jr., senior pastor, of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, will serve as guest preacher. A native of Albany, Ga., he has served as pastor in Smithville, Lee County, Ocilla, and Sylvester. He is the CEO/founder of the New Jerusalem Community Outreach Center, Inc.

This year’s theme, “Spiritual Victory Comes Only to Those Who Are Prepared for the Battle,” led the program committee to take a look into the history of Williams, and in doing so, found that many of the members who have died had made vital, meaningful contributions to the church. So a time of remembrance will also be a part of the program. The annual selection of the king and queen crowing will take place, as well.
