Hispanics dominate roadblock arrests

MOULTRIE — A series of license and insurance checks by the Moultrie Police Department Friday led to the arrests of 15 people, the majority of them Hispanics who were charged with driiving without licenses.
Moultrie police officers set up road check locations at the Sylvester Highway and North Main Street intersection, the Highway 133 South and Dunn Road intersection, the Highway 133 South and Sardis Church Road intersection and the Highway 111 South and Highway 37 West intersection. The road checks took place between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday, and those arrested faced variedl charges.
Those who were charged during the road checks were:
• Jaime Rodriguez Najera, 20, of 932 Summerlin Road, was charged with driving without a license.
• Gloria Mondragon, 25, of 1538 Gene McQueen Road, was charged with driving without a license.
• Francisco Sanchez, 25, of 411 First Ave. S.W., was charged with driving without a license.
• Corey Brown, 26, of 3212 Highway 256, was charged with driving with a suspended license.
• Joshua Melton, 24, of 2014 Funston-Sale City Road, was charged with driving without a license and probation violation.
• Luis Antonio Vasquez Flores, 40, of 173 Circle Road, was charged with driving without a license.
• Joseph Tyler Bengston, 19, of 1264 Bay Rockyford Road, was charged with DUI and DUI child endangerment.
• Anthony Ashley Smith, 21, of 822 Blackberry Road in Baconton, was charged with possession of marijuana and DUI.
• Jose Guzman Campos, 32, of 181 Cedar St., was charged with driving without a license.
• Gilberto Deleon, 24, of 755 Sardis Church Road, was charged with driving without a license.
• Macias Fermin Hernandez, 24, of 338-B Dogwood Drive, was charged with driving without a license and a seatbelt violation.
• Alex Hernandez, 21, of 609 Old Albany Road in Albany, was charged with an open container violation.
