Officers seize 33 pot plants

MOULTRIE — A tip brought drug agents to a Holmes Drive mobile home on Monday, but the aroma of 33 marijuana plants inside confirmed that they were at the right location.

Officers went to the 1202 Holmes Drive residence of Dominiche Holt at about 1:30 p.m. after receiving a tip on the house, Moultrie-Colquitt County Drug Task Force Cmdr. Steve Exum said.

“When we got there we could smell it,” he said.

“He let us in. He cooperated.”

Inside the agents found 33 plants, Exum said. They ranged from six inches to 2 1/2 feet in height.

Holt, 35, was charged with manufacturing marijuana.

He apparently was a heavy marijuana smoker and was growing the plants mainly for personal use, authorities said.

If all of the plants had reached maturity they could have yielded up to one pound each, Exum said.
