Group works toward accountability court here

MOULTRIE — State Rep. Jay Powell, R-Camilla, recently spoke to the Archway-Healthy Colquitt Coalition Mental Health Subcommittee about legislation signed by Gov. Nathan Deal authorizing an additional $10 million for accountability courts. Powell serves as a vice chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. The funds are designated to serve adults convicted of felonies who are dealing with addiction and mental illness issues. The Mental Health Sub-Committee is working to establish an accountability court for Colquitt County.
