Obituaries for Sept. 16



James O. May

LINGLEVILLE, Texas — Dr. James O. May, 72, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, after a brief, unexpected illness.

May served 25 years in the U.S. Air Force as a veterinarian. While in the Air Force, he served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1982. He loved hunting and fishing, but above all he loved his family and friends. After retirement he and his wife built a home on their ranch northwest of Stephenville, Texas. His family described him as a very spiritual man whose church was the great outdoors.

There will be a private memorial for family and friends at TopazII, the May Ranch.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Peggy; sons, Tim and wife Sherry and Bill and wife Christina; and daughter Tami and husband Bob; as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Billy and Dwight, and he was preceded in death by his brother Kenny.

Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

Sara Ann McKinney Meredith

MEIGS — Sara Ann McKinney Meredith, 60, of Meigs, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 16, at Beulah Holiness Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Sloan and the Rev. Kenneth Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn City Cemetery.

Among her survivors are her husband, Richard C. Meredith of Creedmoor, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joey and Glenette Meredith of Stem, N.C., and John and Jamie Meredith of Thomasville, N.C.; her mother, Ruth Yawn McKinney of Meigs; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Cynthia McKinney of Meigs and Larry and Angie McKinney of Valdosta.

Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel is in charge of arrangements.

Audrey Nan Glausier

PELHAM — Audrey Nan Glausier, 78, of Pelham, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
