John Allison Beckner

MOULTRIE -- John Allison Beckner, 46, of Moultrie died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Born at Dreux U.S. Air Force Base France on April, 15, 1958, to Latrelle Adams Beckner and Kenneth W. Beckner Sr., he made his career as a maintenance technician with VENTURE LOGISTICS. He was of the Methodist faith.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. today with the Rev. Larry Bird officiating. Interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Beckner is survived by his parents; a brother, Kenneth William Beckner Jr. of Inverness, Fla.; a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Beckner Clary and husband Rusty of Moultrie; special friend, Cathy Bass of Moultrie; and a nephew, Walt Clary of Moultrie.

The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Beckner, 1405 10th St. S.W.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Margaret Ann Lorio

MOULTRIE -- Margaret Ann Lorio, 34, of Moultrie died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Miles officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Cris Kastelic, James McMurphy, Craig McMurphy, Michael Gibson, Cody Brooks, Jacob Brooks, J.R. Stripling and Tim Pope will serve as casketbearers.

Born March 2, 1971, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Lorio was the daughter of Carolyn McMurphy Reynolds and the late Hubert Reynolds. She was a cashier at Dollar General store and attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas M. Lorio of Thomasville; her mother, Carolyn McMurphy Reynolds of Moultrie; two sons, Corey Lord and Justin Lorio, both of Moultrie; two brothers, Tony Reynolds and Bobby Reynolds, both of Moultrie; and a sister, Denise Callaway of Moultrie.

Steven Joseph Galor Jr.

MOULTRIE -- Steven Joseph Galor Jr., 84, of Moultrie died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Father Michael Smith officiating.

Born March 18, 1921, in Chicago, Mr. Galor was the son of the late Steven Joseph Galor Sr. and the late Cecelia Galor. He was a retired window manufacturing machinist with TM Products and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during World War II. Mr. Galor was a member of the Moultrie Moose Lodge and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Strange Galor of Moultrie; two sons, Joseph Galor and Steven James Galor and wife Sandra, all of Davie, Fla.; a daughter, Karen Margotta of Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren, Steven P. Galor, Stephanie M. Galor, Billy Margotta and Angela Margotta; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Myrtice Foster Giddens

NORMAN PARK -- Myrtice Foster Giddens, 71, of Norman Park died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ronald Barrett officiated.

Born Nov. 25, 1933, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Giddens was the daughter of the late James Clarence Foster and the late Maggie Brannon Foster. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Foster, Marvin Foster, Harry Foster and Earl Foster, and one sister, Mildred May.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Murray Giddens of Norman Park; a son, Murray James Giddens and wife Mona of Moultrie; a daughter, Vickie Welch and husband Douglas of Tifton; a brother, Paul Foster of Moultrie; a sister, Irene Johnson of Moultrie; four grandchildren, Jennifer McMurphy, Jessica Giddens, Veleka Rowell and Tiffany Welch; and two great-grandchildren, Preston McMurphy and Ashlynne McMurphy.

Debra Jean Holmes

ARLINGTON, Tenn. -- Debra Jean Holmes, 48, of Arlington, Tenn., died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Cordova, Tenn. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens in Memphis, Tenn.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Anthony Lynn Holmes of Arlington; a daughter, Jennifer LeAnne Holmes of Hermitage, Tenn.; two sons, Christopher Daniel Holmes and Bradley Neal Holmes, both of Arlington; her mother and stepfather, Jean and Jerry Miller of Moultrie; her father and stepmother, Wilburn and Venice Sloan of Moultrie; a sister, Delicia Sloan Peacock of Moultrie; and a brother, David Brian Sloan of Pavo.

Forest Hill Funeral Home of Memphis is in charge of arrangements.



Jerry Bennett Price

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. -- Jerry Bennett Price, 56, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Oakdale Baptist Church in Moultrie with the Rev. Gary Linton officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Jack Price, Trey Piland, Pete Griffin, Steve Potts, William Hill, Gene Potts, Tim Price and Clint Hill will serve as casketbearers.

Born Sept. 1, 1948, in Colquitt County, Mr. Price was the son of the late Irene Carter Price and the late Jennings Bennett Price. He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Patrick W. Price and wife Peggy of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret C. Moore and husband Joseph of Tallahassee, Fla., and Audra Price Mathis of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
